You have my permission to rank them No. 3 now, now that they've actually earned it. :D

Probably me since I bought in 100 percent that Tech would fold like a cheap suit.

I was wrong. They pulled it off. Good on them. Let's see if they can maintain against the Okie schools.

    My Top 5
    ---------
    1. Alabama
    2. Penn State
    3. Texas Tech
    4. Florida
    5. Texas

Boise State made an appearance in the top 10 and I just can't fathom ranking USC higher than 9.

Because they lost to Oregon State? Because the Pac-10 is down?

The loss aside, USC probably is the best top-to-bottom team in the country. But not higher than 9? Why?

Xan, other than Ohio State and maybe Oregon, they've played nobody. The Pac-10 is atrocious this season and the loss to Oregon State didn't help much.

For the record, I have zero faith in any team below 8th in my poll. That said, West Virginia, Georgia Tech, Pitt and Cal are new on board this week, while Tulsa, South Florida, Minnesota and BYU (which wheezed past a terrible Colorado State) are clinging to driftwood.

And should they keep winning, Texas Tech and Alabama would both be primed to pass Penn State.

Neither did the close win against Arizona.

I do think USC is extremely talented, but as for playing as a team, I don't think they've got that end of it down yet.

How is that different from Florida losing at home to Ole Miss?
