I agree with the weak non-con scheduling. I just don't see how you don't have Texas as the highest of your one-loss teams, based on the quality wins they have vs. USC and Florida.

I know they do. But to say USC is good cause they're rolling teams is a bit dishonest because of who they're playing.

I don't think much of them, either ;)

Do you think USC's BCS ranking is fair? Really, haven't Texas, Oklahoma and Florida all played tougher schedules?

i think SC is the best college FB team in the country. i think if you line florida, oklahoma or texas up against the trojans 10 times, SC walks away the winner at least 7 times against each.

I'm sorry but rating USC No. 1 or 2 because of their talent - as Songbird, the Rainbow Warrior suggested - is like saying Dallas is the best team in the NFL because of their talent. Doesn't mean shit unless you win on the field.

And I already know what the response will be but the truth is this: as long as Penn State - who beat Oregon State, who beat USC - is unbeaten, USC will have take a seat behind the Nittany Lions.

So check back when the Nittany Lions lose. Until then, USC is a non-story.

I think USC is slightly low. Maybe a spot or two.

Shows there's zero reward for avoiding the directional schools in the nonconference.

And as long as we're pissing that PSU beat OSU which beat USC so PSU is better!!!! Then can I whine that USC rolled Ohio State while Penn State barely beat them?

    No?

    Why not?

Because common opponents don't tell anything but the simplest part of the story. Where did they play? When did they play?

Ohio State has changed a lot since getting popped by USC. Oregon State is not the same team that lost big at Happy Valley.

I actually agree with paper dragon here. It's great that they're probably the most talented team, but I don't think they play as a team all that well. I'd say USC maybe wins 4-5 against OK and Texas, and I think Florida and them would come pretty close to splitting every 10.

I'm not that high on Penn State, either, but at least they've won all their games on a schedule that is about as (not) hard as USC's. The regular season has to count for something or else this is all a joke. Penn State beat both OSU's. USC did not.

If USC takes care of business against a far inferior Oregon State team, it wouldn't be a problem. Texas lost to a top 10 team on the last play of the game on the road. Oklahoma lost a close one against the nation's top team on a neutral field. Okie and Texas take care of business when playing inferior teams.
