Man, this keeps getting harder each week.

Only slappy gets my poll, simply because I don't have time early in the week to come back and defend my picks from those who will give me the WHAT!?! business.

But I say this: I give A LOT of weight to strength of schedule and how teams perform when they're playing bad or mediocre teams.

For example, Utah. One of the last undefeated teams left, which is a feather in their cap, but I simply can't make them a Top 10 team. Not only do they not have a single win against a Top 25 team, they played a 4-6 New Mexico team with no offense to a 13-10 finish. Utah should be hanging 30+ points and shutting out a team like New Mexico. I simply can't reward a limp performance like that, even if they are still undefeated.

I've had Central Michigan in my poll the past two weeks. Twenty through 25 is such a fucking crapfest every week, I have to put somebody there. I got sick of ranking the Oregons, Cals, Northwesterns and Boston Colleges of the world only to have them lose...then win...then lose. Go MAC!

KYSW: Yeah, Central Michigan. Who else ya got? Like POO (sorry) said, who else do you have 20-25? No continuity at all, so they get the spot this week.

    I'm in.
And since I really have no clue anymore here's mine:

    1. Penn State
    2. Texas Tech
    3. Texas
    4. Oklahoma
    5. Oklahoma State
    6. Alabama
    7. USC
    8. Florida
    9. Utah
    10. Boise State
    11. TCU
    12. BYU
    13. Mizzou
    14. ball state
    15. Ohio State
    16. Michigan State
    17. North Carolina
    18. Georgia
    19. LSU
    20. Maryland
    21. California
    22. West Virginia
    23. Georgia Tech
    24. Florida State
    25. Pittsburgh

Yes, it's a lot of Big 12 flooding the Top 5. And honestly, I think Okie State may be the best of the bunch. I think they have the D. And if they don't show it this week, then Tech's Crabtree should start getting serious Heisman consideration.

TCU vs. Utah should be interesting. It at least makes the Thursday game almost worth watching for a minute or two.

And really, I think after I got past TCU, I was just picking names out of a hat. I mean really, Pittsburgh at 25? Come on. How can you justify that? That's ins...oh wait, I'm arguing with myself again.

I starting to think, Bowl season is going to be extra crappy this year ( and I didn't even think that was possible).

Yet you have time to critique other people's Top 25.

It's so much easier when everyone else has to do all the work and all you have to supply is snark.

So if the SportsJournalists.com poll was included in the BCS equation, would Alabama and TT still be No. 1 and 2?

Mine is in. Here are my top 5. I'd like to put Oklahoma higher, especially over Penn State ... but just can't pull the trigger.

    1. Alabama
    2. Texas Tech
    3. Penn State
    4. Oklahoma
    5. Texas

I will say that with AZOM, DICKENS CIDER, MADHAVOK, ZEBRACOY and ZEKE left to vote, the top three spots are still within 10 five points of each other.

Now, if anyone wants to volunteer some ftp space somewhere for a pdf file, it would be greatly appreciated... AOL eliminated my ftp site and I will post the file (Cadet, your picks are fine) in the spirit of this weeks column.
