Now you know how I feel about the '93 Stanley Cup, slappy.

Oh, and how do you think USC fans feel after that, you know, 12-0 regular season a few years ago ... you know, the one in which the Trojans didn't play in the title game even though they were ranked No. 1 in both polls.

That would be the Stanley Cup where the fucking Kings got to the finals when Barry Mullet ordered Marty McSorley to run Dougie Gilmour in Game 1, and the Great One hitting Gilmour in the face with a stick in OT in Game 6 without penalty? Those finals? Fuck the Kings...

When it comes to the MIAA, I'm down with Brian Shay and Emporia State.

The SIAC used to be one of the biggest (and probably best) conferences in the nation.

Now, not so much. Covered the SIAC for two years when I worked in Frankfort, and the talent level has dropped off so much over the years in a lot of the sports.

i'd be willing to bet emporia state doesn't win that conference.

And you would be correct, they never win that conference. But I like the Hornets moreso than Pitt State, Washburn or Fort Hays State when it comes to D-II football in Kansas.

Pitt State did make an appearance on ESPN Classic last month, when SC was having its "Titletown" bit. They showed a couple games from the featured Titletown candidate for the day, and when it came time for Valdosta State, they showed the D-II championship game wins against Pitt State (2004) and Northwest Missouri State (2007). I set the DVR for both, to watch some players I covered in high school.

I think I would like Pitt State more if the helmets weren't so weak. They ought to use the logo and not this ...
