Here's a summary of what slappy got from me moments ago ...

    1. Alabama
    2. Oklahoma
    3. Texas
    4. Southern California
    5. Florida

Biggest rise -- No. 9 Ball State, up four spots
Biggest fall -- No. 10 Texas Tech, down eight spots
Breaking in -- No. 21 Georgia Tech, No. 22 Boston College, No. 25 Northwestern
Dropping out -- No. 22 Louisiana State, No. 24 Miami (Fla.), No. 23 North Carolina

Basically, I jumped the Sooners past Texas, looking at the big picture (see my post two above this one) as opposed to one game. USC and the Gators both move up one while Texas Tech slips to No. 10.

I don't see how Bama can be No. 1, considering their "marquee" wins are against Clemson, Georgia, Ole Miss and LSU. Yeah, no dice.
I had Texas Tech at No. 1, jumped Oklahoma up to the top spot. About as dominant a performance as you can imagine against a top-ranked team. Kept Florida at No. 2, because its one loss is worse than Oklahoma's. Alabama at No. 3, because it is undefeated. Southern Cal at No. 4, then Texas Tech at No. 5 and Texas at No. 6.

    1. Alabama - Undefeated. It's not easy to be undefeated in a big conference, even if that conference is having a down year. Just ask Florida, USC and Penn State.
    2. Texas - Beat Oklahoma, barely lost to Texas Tech at TT.
    3. Oklahoma - Lost to Texas on neutral ground, whooped TT at home.
    4. Florida - I would jump them ahead of OK or Texas if they beat Bama. I don't want to see a Big 12 rematch in the national championship game. They already played that game. Texas won.
    5. Utah - Undefeated, including a couple of quality teams.
    6. USC
    7. Penn State
    8. Texas Tech

Maybe we'll see them play in the BCS.

I hope not, because that would be a really boring game.

So was USC vs. Oregon State. USC vs. Stanford last year was extremely boring. ;)

I'm lost as to why everyone thinks USC will automatically roll over "lesser" opponents. They've repeatedly failed to do so.

This is not your old brother's USC team. Carson Palmer, Matt Leinart and Reggie Bush are not there any more.

Well, Oregon State might just be better than Utah.

Does Ball State have any chance to make a BCS bowl now that Utah is in? I'd really hate to see them in the Motor City Bowl.

    I forgot about that.

Anyway, your hatred for USC is just as unfounded a reason to say USC doesn't deserve a BCS bid as much as the USC fanbois saying they do.

    You have a jaded opinion.
