I do not hate USC, nor did I say they don't deserve a BCS bid. The facts are they don't deserve a national title bid over the teams in front of them.

You make a point, I make a better counterpoint. That's how this thread has gone. To throw up the "you hate USC" argument says to me that you've run out of points. :)

An upset is one thing; if Oregon State gets the automatic bid from the Pac-10, there's no way USC should sniff the title game.

Your point for Florida is they have been beating people by a lot, but the Gators lost at home to a terrible team. Penn State lost on the road to a terrible team.

USC lost on the road to a team that possibly could win its conference. In that regard, USC is ahead of Florida and Penn State.

Right now, I think it goes:

    1. Alabama
    2. Oklahoma
    3. Texas
    4. USC
    5. Florida
    6. Penn State
    7. Texas Tech

You keep ripping on USC for losing to Oregon State. At the time it was a bad loss, now? Now, it is one of the better losses among the teams in the top 10.

That's one way to look at it, I guess.

The way I look at it is Florida's in a tougher conference with tougher opponents. As I've said before, they're in a position that they can redeem themselves by beating Alabama.

USC is in a conference that's so tough that a 3-loss team (with two non-conference losses and a loss to Stanford) can conceivably clinch it with a win.

I just think people need to be real about USC. Great defense. Ok offense. Yes, they have great history and great talent but that doesn't mean shit if you don't win the games you're supposed to.

If Florida beats Alabama, then sure, it will jump into the BCS title talk, but right now, they are below USC based on who the teams lost to.

    It's that simple for me.

Of course I'd like USC to be in the title game, because I'm a Pac-10 fan, but I can admit it doesn't deserve to be there if Florida beats Alabama or if Oklahoma runs the table.

Right now, though, USC is more deserving than Florida.

That's fair enough. That's all I'm saying. The biggest reason I have Florida higher is so I don't have to leapfrog them over USC if they beat Alabama.

As for Oklahoma: it took some self-discipline on my part because that win against TT was nasty, but I still don't think they deserve to be ranked over Texas. I think you have to give the edge to head-to-head whenever possible. I understand there's a three way tie in the conference but the tie-breaker is how they're ranked. One-loss Texas beat one-loss Oklahoma. Texas should be ranked higher.

I'm not going to get into this argument except to say that neither Ole Miss nor Iowa are "terrible" teams, in my mind. They're not great, but they're certainly not terrible. Syracuse is terrible. Washington is terrible.

I've called them "weak" in the past. I think "unranked" may be the fairest label.

Considering LSU just fell out, I can't. But in two weeks I can.
