I'm not counting them as a win. What I said is, if they win out they will be one of the top 2 teams in the country. Right now I have them ranked behind Alabama and a couple of other teams.

Who cares at this point Tom? Whatever is said for Florida or Alabam, you're not going to care, or change your mind.

Alright, here's what I did: ranked just 17 teams, pending slappy's approval. (He is the boss, so I defer to his ruling.) My rationale: for the last month, these last few spots have rotated between teams beating each other. No one stands out, no one's really better than the next. None of them deserve to be ranked. I debated putting in Mississippi, who I like, but the Rebels have lost four times. And I really have a hate on for both BYU and Michigan State, who've fattened up on the weaklings while being absolutely destroyed by their top-level opposition.

    So:
1-5: Alabama, Texas, Oklahoma, Florida, USC. I debated putting Florida at 2, but Texas came within a miracle of going unbeaten in the toughest stretch played by any team in college football this year. That matters. The Sooners destroyed the previous number one, which also matters. I love the way Florida is playing, but the top three are deserved. The Gators' loss to Mississippi is, to me, evidence of how hard it is to stay unbeaten, which is why Alabama is my number one.
6-10: Penn State, Texas Tech, Ohio State, Utah, Boise State.
11-15: Oklahoma State, TCU, Missouri, Georgia, Ball State.
    16-17: Oregon State, Cincinnati.

Got to give them credit for going undefeated against a major conference schedule. They beat everyone they faced, including the non-ranked rivals. That's more than Florida, USC or Penn State can say.

I'm curious to know what behemoth USC has beaten.

I don't agree with Ohio State over Utah, but other than that I think you pretty much got the top 6 or 7 right.

I think Utah, like Alabama, deserves credit for going unbeaten this far into the season. If it was so easy, Florida, USC and Penn State would be unbeaten.

I don't like it. I'm not saying there are 25 good teams out there...but geez, it's a Top 25 ranking. Rank 25 teams. Yes that will include some seemingly mediocre selections.

That being said, this gives list gives me a bigger headache each week.

I had a really tough time with the top of the ballot this week. Bottom is a complete CF.

    1. Bammy 2 -- Undefeated counts for something...I don't see them winning out, though.
    2. Oklahoma 5 -- I had a really hard time putting them about Texas, but they laid into Tech, my previous No. 1 and also have good non-con wins over TCU and Cincy. They're my No. 1 if they win out.
    3. Texas 3 -- Whether it's them or Oklahoma or Tech playing for the Big 12 title, it better be the winner of the Big 12 championship (assuming a south win) playing for the national title.
    4. Florida 4 -- Right now, I'd like to see Oklahoma playing the fighting Tebows for the national championship...of course things change.
    5. USC 6 -- I hope Oregon State loses so I can see them match up against Penn State. Rose Bowl would be quite sexy.
    6. Utah 7 -- Better than most people give them credit for. Hopefully they can knock off whoever they play.
    7. Penn State 8 -- Glad they're representing the Big 11 instead of Ohio State.
    8. Texas Tech 1 -- I hate to drop teams so far, but there are too many good teams to not drop them for getting blown out. Bad non-con comes back into play, too.
    9. Boise State 9 -- I don't like having them so high, but I don't really like anybody below them too much, either.
    10. Ohio State 12 -- Meh. I'll put them here this week.
    11. Okie State 10 -- Gotta keep them ahead of Mizzou. Probably still will if they lose by a touchdown or less to Okie.
    12. Mizzou 11 -- Don't screw this up.
    13. Ball State 13 -- You should win by more. Try playing tougher teams next year.
    14. TCU 17
    15. Cincinnati 19
    16. Georgia 16
    17. Oregon State 20
    18. BYU 14
    19. Florida State NR
    20. Michigan State 15
    21. Georgia Tech NR
    22. Oregon NR
    23. Ole Miss NR
    24. Boston College NR
    25. Western Michigan 25

Yea, I think you have to have 25 teams on each ballot. I'm sure each AP or coaches poll voter had to do that.

Seems like we should do the same.
