    So . . . .

    Last year, people dropped Michigan from No. 4 to out of the poll based on a single season-opening loss.

    Based on that, would it be appropriate to raise UCLA from unranked to No. 25 based on this single victory, against a ranked team?

    I say yes.

    Not yet. They beat a somewhat overrated Tennessee team at home on a missed field goal. Had UCLA lost that game, we'd be all over them for their horrid defense on Tennessee's last drive.

    Yeah, the Bruins are ... not that good. I think this game says more about Tennessee than it does about UCLA. Great win, but they'll have to do it again for me to consider them in the top 25.

    UCLA is one of my top vote getters. Definitely top 30, but I'm taking a wait-and-see approach with them.
