Yeah, looks like ECU was lucky to me...

If by luck you mean ECU not having Sean Glennon at QB you are dead-on-balls accurate.

Such a beatdown they needed to block a punt for a TD with two minutes left in order to get the lead for the first time, and without the blocked punt they ain't gonna win the game. Despite dominating statistically, ECU was on the verge of losing. That's luck.

This game alone will not convince me that ECU is deserving of being in the top 25 conversation, nor will this game alone convince me that ECU is better than Va Tech. If it turns out to be so in two months, good for them. But it's not time to say that yet.

And if anything was luck, it was VaTech's first touchdown, which looked like a screen pass that was ruled a lateral that the Hokies defense scooped up for the score. That play was as flukey as they come.

And that's fine. ECU isn't in my poll, even though it's a better team some will give them credit for.

At the same time, I can't rank VT above any of the others in my poll after seeing its performance on Saturday.

Would ECU beat them again this Saturday?

If ECU beats Va. Tech and WVU in back-to-back weeks, I'd rank them top 5.

Depends who Beamer starts at QB. If they lined up with the same squads on the same field again, I'd say yes.

not to pick on you 2much, but to me, those stats make it look like VT was the lucky ones. Lucky to be winning a game they were getting pasted in statistically.

You mean if Beamer had another week to gameplan? To put Taylor in uniform? Maybe. But that's not the point. The Hokies had their chance, against an inferior (which is what the Pirates are in terms of program stature, coaching, recruiting, depth, etc..) opponent, and blew it. Those are the breaks.
