I'm still mystified as to why Florida State is getting votes for winning two preseason games against I-AA teams.

You're gonna be more than mystified in a couple of hours...

I didn't vote for them. If Florida State is getting votes, so should Notre Dame. And that's never going to happen.

Forgot to post this yesterday when I sent it to slappy. No vote for Free Shoes U. from me, though I must say it was a struggle to fill out those last three spots.

    1 Southern Cal
    2 Oklahoma
    3 Missouri
    4 Georgia
    5 Florida
    6 LSU
    7 Texas
    8 Alabama
    9 Auburn
    10 South Florida
    11 East Carolina
    12 Wisconsin
    13 BYU
    14 Texas Tech
    15 Penn State
    16 Oregon
    17 Wake Forest
    18 Utah
    19 Kansas
    20 Ohio State
    21 Vanderbilt
    22 North Carolina
    23 Arizona State
    24 Virginia Tech
    25 Fresno State

Out (and never to be seen again): Cal, UCLA
In: North Carolina, Virginia Tech (welcome back, Hokies ... by default)
Biggest jump: South Florida (up 10 spots)
Biggest fall: Ohio State, Arizona State (down 12 spots)

Anybody casting a vote for Florida State before the Seminoles play Wake Forest should be disenfranchised due to sheer stupidity.

    :) :D ;D 8) That too.

People, seriously ... I was raised on Florida State football and met Coach Bowden when he was in his third season in Tallahassee (I was in fifth grade). If I'm not buying this yet, why the hell are any of you buying it? Check back after they play Wake Forest.

Can't speak for others, but my inclusion of FSU was of the "Eh, somebody's got to go into this spot."

Like others have said, once you get past the top five or six, I think you could draw names from a hat.

    Someone had to go there.

I thought about putting North Carolina there, but figured that would be viewed as too fanboi-ish.

Yeah, same here. I put them at 24... the last few spots could have been filled by about 6 or 7 teams.
