A quick insight on my ballot -- 1. LSU, 2. Southern Cal, 3. Missouri, 4. Oklahoma, 5. Florida.

My top 6 stayed in the same spots and East Carolina's demise started the trickle-down effect.

Added to the top 25 -- Boise State at 20, Nebraska at 21, TCU at 22
Dropped from the top 25 -- East Carolina, Oregon, West Virginia

Other Notes: I dropped Auburn from 8 to 10. Georgia went from 9 to 7, Bama from 10 to 8. I kept Ohio State at 13. Wisconsin jumped from 17 to 11 despite not playing because of bad performances by others that I couldn't move them up that high. I also jumped BYU from 22 to 12 and Texas Tech from 23 to 15. I dropped Wake Forest one spot to 16 despite the win and South Florida two spots to 23 despite their win.

ECU out. ASU, no. VT, sorry. Clemson? Never. Well, maybe, maybe if it gets through its eighth game at 7-1 to show itmight clear the 9-3 path/

I know I'm going to get hammered for pushing LSU ahead of USC, but until USC beat Ohio State, I had LSU higher. I just believe last night's victory at Auburn was a much more impressive victory than USC drubbing Ohio State, who I vastly overrated. Now, the only way USC can move back up is when those SEC teams lose.

Auburn became the third No. 8 team in my poll to lose in four weeks. The Tigers were the only No. 8 team not to lose while holding that spot with a 3-2 victory. Good luck this week, Alabama.

As far as Wake Forest jumping eight spots...I don't think FSU is all that good (never ranked by me), but I've wanted to believe in WF and beating a legitimate program allowed me to do that.

ECU proved itself to be a fraud...just like slap, Xan and I predicted...even its victory against WVU is completely tarnished. (Where have you gone Rich Rodriguez?) Oregon also could be a fraud, but I'll give it the benefit of the doubt because I still think the Ducks are better than my 26-30 teams. I still ranked them below Boise State.

The teams that climbed in -- Michigan State, Boise State, Vandy -- might not stay long, though, the Spartys will finish no worse than third in the Big 10.

Maryland probably deserved to jump into the top 15 by virtue of its stunning victory aganst that powerhouse in Ypsilanti, but fuck the Terps.

    Fire away.

Sparty, Vandy and Boise all made solid cases for the top 25... Fresno, however... yeah, I know they won, but that's only because Amstutz wanted had more balls than belly brains and go for the win in the second OT instead of shaking out and seeing what happened in the third.

Well, anytime a team can beat a MAC school, it's rising in my poll. I mean, that's fucking tough.

Fresno coughed up a 10-point lead in like the last five minutes and looked like shit doing it. If Amstutz wasn't a musclehead of a coach, he would have won that game... Addition by subtraction in my polll...

I can respect that. I don't think Toledo is a terrible team, though. Sam Houston State is much worse and that's why I put Fresno ahead of Kansas. I don't think Fresno will get much higher in my poll at any point, for what it's worth.

I don't think Toledo is terrible either... But a normal coach would have won that game, Amstutz got greedy and lost it.

How do you jump LSU over USC? Just because USC didn't play? Guess that 35-3 win over Ohio State didn't really mean anything.
