I have a hard time giving LSU a ton of credit for beating a team which eeked out a 1-point win over Mississippi State, who has gotten beat by two technical colleges this season.

I think all that game showed Saturday is Auburn is probably not nearly as good as everyone thought, and LSU is probably a shade better than everyone thought.

I'm more interested in his selection of Arizona at 24 myself.

I thought the win was impressive by LSU, but not impressive enough in my mind to overtake USC, which has the best signature win of all the top teams so far this season.

As far as Arizona, well, there is not a lot of good teams in the 23-35 spot, so I figured what the hell. They are 3-0.

Edit: Oh, shit. I misread that. They are 3-1. Uh, well, there is no defense for that. I'll see if I can get that changed.

Second edit: I'll actually stick with it. They have a conference win and are 3-1.

I was just kidding, dude. I think the LSU victory was the most impressive in the history of college football.

    I know.

I was just explaining why I moved LSU up, like you, but didn't send them all the way to the top.

    1. USC
    2. Oklahoma
    3. Georgia
    4. Florida
    5. LSU
    6. Missouri
    7. Texas
    8. BYU
    9. Penn State
    10. Wisconsin
    11. Alabama
    12. Texas Tech
    13. Wake Forest
    14. Utah
    15. South Florida
    16. Ohio State
    17. Auburn
    18. Boise State
    19. TCU
    20. Clemson
    21. Kansas
    22. Oklahoma State
    23. East Carolina
    24. Virginia Tech
    25. Nebraska

Oregon, West Virginia and Fresno State drop back to the claiming races, making room for Boise, Va. Tech and Nebraska. I was actually more impressed with Auburn last night than last week, which is how they climbed three spots. As for Vanderbilt in a football top 25, I will believe when I see the nail marks in Bobby Johnson's hands. I have full faith the 'Dores will find a way to fall short of six wins, despite still having Miss. State and Duke left to play.
