If I had to guess on USC, depending on other games and taking into account that favorites win: Oklahoma, Missouri, Florida, the Georgia-Alabama winner, LSU, Texas, Wisconsin. That would put USC at 8. The big question is: if Georgia-Bama is close, does USC fall behind that loser and do people view Auburn's loss as better than USC's. And at this point I wouldn't put Texas Tech ahead of the Trojans but that is a possibility, as is Penn State shooting up if they destroy Illinois.

At the very worst, I can't see Southern Cal falling out of the top 15 but if people knock them out of the top 10, I can't say I would blame that voter -- especially since there really isn't a huge game coming up to measure them against whereas there are so many other teams that will have those measuring stick games.

    Where did this come from?

Oh, and USC may stay in my top 6.

Bama won't win Saturday, and Georgia isn't better than USC.

The bigger question: How far does Ohio State fall because of Southern Cal's loss? And are the Buckeyes unranked after they lose to the Gophers?

They can't fall without another loss, at least to me, but it does effect how we view that loss in terms of the BCS. The Buckeyes certainly couldn't have been happy with that game.

on my working sheet right now, I have USC penciled at 14, but they'll probably end up 11 or 12 by the time i'm done.

Vandy is in the running to be my new No. 1!!!

The more I think about it, I can't keep USC in my top 10. I mean, they never led against a team that lost by eight points at Stanford and 31 at Penn State. I'm probably going to treat this like East Carolina's loss at North Carolina State -- if I felt the Pirates deserved to drop 10 or more spots (which is what I did), USC probably should, too.

That's a good call. I was thinking of doing the same.
