No doubt they are bottom feeders, at least Virginia and Baylor normally are, but they are undefeated. There's only 18 teams that can make such a claim and we're not even halfway through the season. If someone wants to reward them, they are certainly a viable option.

UConn's win at Louisville is pretty decent if if the 'Ville is down from previous years.

Not really. Louisville outplayed UConn, which got lucky on the late pick and escaped. Huskies disappear without Donald Brown; even with him, they close out with at least four losses in their next seven games.

I'll come from the other end: UConn was in the game and won because of the pick.

    Disappear without Donald Brown?

    Like Oklahoma disappears without Bradford?

Nobody of significance behind Brown. OU is more than just Bradford; if OU loses Bradford Stoops can emphasize the run in order to carry Halzle.

    Obviously, Oklahoma>Connecticut by a million.

But Connecticut is rising, building its foundation. We've seen it coming the last 3-5 years. Now they're not just winning games at home, but going on the road and beating a Louisville. Yes, it's just Louiville. But it's Louisville. And only two years ago Louisville was devastating in a Louisville sort of way.

So Conn being 5-0 is just a building block. But like Della said, it's beaten a team in three BCS conferences. That's top 25 enough for me, right now.

I sure don't understand how AP can rank Texas Tech seventh. The only team they've truly been awesome against is FCS Massachusetts. The Red Raiders struggled to get past the team Missouri strafed by 52. They'll fall to their level once Texas and Oklahoma get through with them.

I'd definitely rank UConn if they beat North Carolina and I'd be tempted to rank UNC if they beat UConn.

The bottom five are a crapshoot. You could make an argument for a lot of teams not named Tennessee, including the ones you listed (among those, I put Ball State in my top 25).

My question is... do you think the lad was savvy enough to read between the lines...
