At least one woman, Tiffany Michelle, who has been playing very well. Is Kelly Kim a man or a woman?

Kelly Kim I believe is a man, since I saw a report that Michelle was the last women in the field.

Chino Reem has been on at least one televised final table.

As for 10th place ... has there been a more devastating bubble boy in the history of poker? Nine go on to four months of hype and possible endorsements, while you sit at home, oh so close. Nearly $600,000 takes the sting off a bit, but still.

My question is, do they give them all ninth-place money now as an "advance" since it's the minimum they could make? I think it would kind of suck not to have access to a minimum of $600k for four months.

But now ESPN has months to build them into compelling figures before the final table.

True -- and how long before we start seeing these idiots show up in Sportscenter spots and when will the way over the top, way too long preview show featuring interviews and stories about all of them air?

Great question. What if you put your last 10k into this tournament?

I'm also unimpressed by the final table. Look for Schwartz to get a lot of run...a New Yawker who once played chess in the park for money.

According to USA TODAY, the final tablists get $900,670 now, which is the equivalent of 9th place money.

The rest is in an interest-bearing account so the final payouts in November will actually be slightly higher.

Complete with the cheesy puff piece music accompanying swirling clouds of cigar smoke and globs of sandwiches falling onto their shirt in super slo-mo.
