OK, now that the Main Event is showing on ESPN having started this past Tuesday, I don't feel so bad bringing this thread back.

I'm watching the first hour in my DVR and someone just got knocked out with quad Aces. Yes, quad Aces.

The flop was Ace of hearts, 9 of clubs, Queen of diamonds. Turn was 10 of diamonds, river was Ace of diamonds.

Guy by the name of Habuchi loses because guy named Phillips was holding King and Jack of diamonds for a Royal Flush.

McEachern reports the odds of quad aces and a Royal Flush in the same hand is something like 1 in 2.7 billion.

I was just telling my buddy about that. Losing with quad aces would be the last hand I ever played. Even though you'd never take a worse beat, that's just too much. Ugh.

At my local cardroom, that bad beat would be worth about $30,000. Assuming it hasn't been won since last Saturday night.

Well, I'd take that "bad" beat.

No kidding. I'd win more with that "bad" beat than all I've ever won before "winning."

At the World Series? God that'd be awful.

Well, he WAS an underdog on the turn - KJ guy turned a straight.
But yeah, I think I'd freaking throw up if I was Mr. Quad aces.

    No doubt about it.

Could you imagine if that was Hellmuth taking that episode of Sodomy Theater?

They'd still be cleaning up the mess.

BTW, speaking of loudmouths, did anyone catch Scotty Nguyen's classless act en route to his HORSE title?

Dropping F-bombs every third word, cursing out the cocktail waitress because she didn't get him his beer fast enough, talking trash long after that DeMichele kid got the message.

Douchenozzlery of the ripest order and not typical Scotty N behavior.

It's perhaps a sign that you should be doing other things with your time. Quad Aces at the WSOP and get busted? Yeah, time to go back to my baseball cards.
