    About an 18-pack of Michelobs.

I tuned in late last night, but I guess this 23-year-old Michael DeMichele was popping off and yapping away after winning a few hands early in their three-handed game (Erick Lindgren was the third player at the table).

Chad and McEachern kept talking about it. At first, they defended Scottie for putting him back in his place and explaining that's not the way you conduct yourself.

The problem was, Scottie wouldn't let it go. He kept yapping and yapping, even after DeMichele was sufficiently chastened and deferential.

And the F-bombs about the cocktail waitress? Way over the line.

laff - They used duct tape to cover the label of whatever beer that drunk was imbibing... I guess it wasn't Milwaukee's Best, the WSOP sponsor.

I, too, recently watched that episode of the HORSE tournament for the second time and can only say that Nguyen's actions were clearly acohol-induced.

In fact, the so-called "dance" and "bow" Michael DeMichele was allegedly taking weren't really that big of a deal -- Nguyen made far too much out of it -- particularly since the kid apologized for it and said he wouldn't do it again.

I think Eric Lindgren started acting a little bit like a punk about it though and mostly because he was losing.

And that is what my impression of this world series has been in watching this episode and I wanted to run this past most of you -- does it seem like the "professional guys" acted like bigger babies this year than any year you can remember?

There was Ivy's little tirade, Nguyen's little tirade, Hellmuth (I know, not much different but still the same), Mark Seif acting all pissy when he lost to the UFC guy -- just seems like the professionals are getting frustrated that they can't dominate the fields like they think they should.

    Am I off on this?

    What did Ivey do?

As for Scotty, he's shown up at some local tournaments near here. Depending on the number of beers he's had, he's either the nicest guy in the room or the biggest asshole.

There was a hand where Ivey had As-Xs and he was against some amateur who had J-8 offsuit. The board came Js-Xs-Jh-8s-Kd - so Ivey had the nut flush but the amateur guy turned the full house when he hit his flush.

To make a long story short -- Ivey put the guy all in on the river and the guy, who was clearly just out of his element and anxious and caught up in the moment so he thought about it for a minute or whatever and then called.

Ivy of course is pissed because he says "what took you so long, you had the nuts...." (which by the way, he didn't have the nuts)

Dude, who at this point is clearly confused, tries to say something like "I thought you might have had K-J" -- (by the way, a very legitimate concern given the way the hand was played) ---and Ivey cuts him off and goes into another snippy lecture about "you had the nuts what were you thinking....then ends it with -- I guess we look at things differently..." then he proceeds a few hands over to donk off the rest of his stack and leave in a hissy fit.

It was in some ways worse the Nguyen because at least Scotty was drunk......

The pros seem to sometime forget that the reason they are now absurdly wealthy instead of simply rich is because of the local donkeys who sit at their tables.

I don't think so. They are unknowns now and they'll be unknowns when it's over. And unless one of them has six ears or an IQ of 4200, I don't care to know anything more about them. It's not as though any of them have any actual skills.

Ivey did not look good on that hand. He thought the amateur slow-rolled, but Ivey could have had two KK and had the best full house.

The chick on last night with the drooping botox lips did not look good in hi-def. At all.

Damn there have been some sick beats on tonight's first hour of the Main Event on ESPN.

Adam Schoenfeld has pocket 10s against some guy named Eskeland with K-J of diamonds, and the board goes 6-7-8-9 giving Shoenfield a straight on the turn. ... and a 10 on the river to gives Eskelund a higher straight and knocks out Schoenfeld.

On an earlier hand, Jean-Robert Bellande goes all in with A-Q off and gets called by some joker with 10-9 off. Flop comes out with A-2-8. Bellande starts cheering for no Jack or 7 to give the guy an open-ended straight draw. When a 6 comes, Bellande starts cheering as though he won the hand, but Phil Hellmuth reminds him that a 7 would be a gut-shot straight for Akopyan. Sure enough, a 7 on the river.

I thought Bellande was going to swallow his tongue when the 7 came down. That's just brutal.
