Strap in, kids. It's tradin' time.

Twitter feeds aplenty: Florida trades Jordan Leopold to Pittsburgh for a 2nd round pick in 2010, pending trade call with NHL.

After watching some of the best hockey you'll ever see, tomorrow night's Leafs vs Whalercanes won't have the same drama.

And trade deadline day for TSN & Sportsnet is the sports version of a Canadian Federal Election.

GMs have had 17 days to work on deals, this could be the perfect storm for TSN and Sportsnet who will once again broadcast the entire day for the deadline hoping something, anything goes down otherwisethey will rehash the Phaneuf deal from two weeks ago for eight hours. Saddly the biggest name that could be dealt will likely be Whitney out of Carolina.

And the Oilers send Dennis Grebshkov to the Predators for a second round pick. He's a UFA this year so that's not bad, especially considering he has had more than his fair share of difficulties this season, reverted to his form of two years ago where he has had huge issues handling the puck in his own end.

No Kovalchuk, no problem, the Thrashers have signed Chris Chelios to take them to the promised land . . .

NHL Network showed the pregame ceremony from Pittsburgh. Which featured these gems:

Alexei Ponikarovsky to the Pittsburgh Penguins for defenceman Martin Skoula and forward Luca Caputi.

Caputi is a friend of my eldest son. Big power forward who's a Burke kinda player.

Played for the Ice Dogs in the OHL.

I was watching the news and saw this same thing and thought -- good for Penguins fans, who are at least showing they are Americans first and Penguins fans second.

I don't think it is about being sore losers, either, and even Crosby said he understood and respected it.
