Seventeen goals in 17 games is one hell of a streak these days.

His credentials are far better than those of Ron Wilson, who carries himself in such a way that you'd think he has more Cup rings than Scotty Bowman.

He keeps extending his points streak as well, 18 games and counting.

Trying to decide which hockey game to go to over spring break ...

Is Stamkos worth the 2.5-hour drive to see TB play Columbus?

I'd do it, because you'll also get to see Rick Nash.

Assuming he's not on the IR. He'd day-to-day right now.

See, this is how wrapped up I've been with soccer in the last two weeks.

They've been one of the biggest disappointments of the season. With their top two lines they should be much better. I think they stuck with J.S. Giguere too long while trying to showcase him to other teams, is part of the problem.
They just never seemed to get going this year, stuck in neutral more than anything.
One of their big issues is their back end, after Neidermayer and Visnovsky they are lacking, unless you are a big fan of Wisenewski and Aaron Ward who couldn't find a job in Chicago as a seventh D-Man. Boyton has fallen way off and I think was even down in the minors for a bit.
Basically what they need is a shake up. I could see them waiving goodbye to Neidermayer, Selanne, Koivu, Marchant, in the offseason and maybe even the coach, but he may get the start of at least next year to prove himself — winning the Stanley Cup should give you more security than one missed playoff. But they grew a bit stagnant this year.
Murray will get the chance to put his stamp on the franchise this offseason with a bunch of expiring contracts, particularly on the blue-line.

I agree with Beef. No reason a team with three gold medal Olympians, a US Olympian, a good goaltender like Hiller shouldn't be in the top eight in its conference. And, when all is said and done, I think they will be.

I doubt the San Jose Sharks want to face them in the playoffs again.

Here is an excellent article on players such as Matt Cooke and his ilk.

I think in the Amish/Mennonite community Cooke would be shunned.
