With or without him, the Capitals will get the #1 seed in the East. A suspension (i.e. a bit of a rest) might actually work in Ovechkin's and Washington's favour.

He already took two weeks off while the Olympics were on. ;D

That was a preview of the Blackhawks in the playoffs. The goaltending is so horrific that it could be tough for the Hawks to get out of the second round.

Also, rejoice, hockey fans with DirecTV: Versus is back in the fold.

These suspensions are becoming disconcerting. But with playoff spots locked up, I'm not opposed to getting him extra rest, Double J's joke not withstanding. That said, I'd rather he come up with other ways to get that rest.

We play that game a lot here. He likes the F word.
He does a lot of cheesy commercials and we like to spice them up by adding in the F word.

I actually worked with Bruce years ago. His "near miss" on 9-11 is quite a story.
Happy he made it to the NHL. He busted his arse to get there.

Not sure I know that story. I know some hockey people, including one who played here years ago, were on the plane out of Boston.

He seems to be one hell of a coach. I don't know enough about it to know for sure. I know he has a ton of talent now. The work he did his first season in Washington was amazing.

I'm guessing you're referring to Ace Bailey.

I don't recall the reason Bruce didn't take the flight with Ace and (Mark?) Bavis to L.A. for the Kings' organizational meetings, but he ordinarily would have. He was coaching either Lowell or Manchester at the time. A colleague did a piece on it shortly afterward. It was poignant.
