One more reason not to watch Sportsnet Central

I've enjoyed the NHL on the Fly show on the NHL Network. Good nightly whip-around coverage and analysis.

Leafs clinch 29th place, Boston will have 3 of the first 33 picks in the draft.

Let's hope they do something with them this time (although I think taking Hall or Seguin ensures they will).

Pretty sure the last time they had two first-rounders, it was 2000 and they managed to land Lars Jonsson at 7 and Martin Samuelsson at 27. Samuelsson was rated about that high, but Jonsson they could have probably still had in the third round. The two of them played a total of 22 NHL games.

If you're the prayin' type, might be time to say a few for Pat Burns.

There's no guarantee they end up with a top two pick, they could slide all the way to No. 3 with the lottery.

Pat Burns may have been my all time favourite Leafs coach. This is so friggin' sad.

A good day in Raleigh. Regardless of what people think of the All-Star Game, it's still a good thing for your NHL city to have the opportunity to host it.

And a hat giveaway prior to the home finale turned into a mess on the ice thanks to Eric Staal's three goals later in the evening. Helping was another solid performance by Cam Ward, showing no ill effects from the recent back issues.

And the last player on the scoresheet in Mellon Arena history (regular-season version) is Sidney Crosby, who, with 14 seconds left ...

    ... took a penalty.
