Honest question, how did he get a better shot under Quinn? I'm not there so I honestly don't know. Did he not play the same amount of preseason games last year and didn't he play some NHL games under Mactavish? That seems like a better shot to me than getting waived. I guess it also shows that Mactavish and everyone else who question this kids heart were right. What a waste of talent.

I can't stand Millen either, imo he's awful.

I know it's not a new thing, it was merely an observation that they've added to what they have - was trying to go the tounge in cheek route. Weekes going to the booth was a bit of a surprise. Was wondering what medicore goalie would sign next, really.

For better or worse CBC goes the mediocre goalie route (some have been much better than others like Hrudey who has gotten much better over the years and MIllen who is frustratingly bad), TSN goes the ex-coach route (Torterella was probably my favourite because he almost seemed to openly resent being there, especially when they made him do stuff like The Quiz, and then there's Pierre McGuire who's best handled with the mute button unless he's doing World Jrs. and even then he pushes it sometimes).

(Oh and I'll take your Roenick and raise you one P.J. Stock)

Darren Pang is another very mediocre goalie who has made a better career for himself in the booth than on the ice. Where as Melrose is predicting Pronger to not only with the Norris this year but the Hart as well ?!?!

Again calling them mediocre is an indictment of their on ice career, not their on air ability. I'll let you judge their on-air ability for yourself.

He had a better shot with Quinn because Quinn came in with no pre-concieved notions about Schremp. Schremp had the cliche clean slate. He just didn't take advantage of his opportunity this time and was rightly waived.

But I'm gone for the day We can argue later if you want.

I picked the Monster as my backup goalie for my fantasy team (Hughson's Heroes). I got made fun of in my draft. But, he's 6-3. How bad can he be?

He's the guy who's gonna beat Team USA in Vancouver. :)

The Penguins ring has some serious bling, and Sidney's name is now etched on the Cup. Worth mentioning before this season begins ...

Perhaps. But we'll cross that bridge when we get there.

Until then, it was good to see the Whalercanes get this done. Long time coming ...
