    And you hooked me.

Might as well for post 5,000.

I have often reffered to the Great Stortilini as a human punching bag. He is improving but he is still not a very good fighter. But you have to give him this, he is always willing and I have never seen him turn down a fight. He fights more than just about anybody in the league, I think the last couple of years it has been between him and Dan Carcillo for most fights. Rypien was just too fast for him. He got that first punch in and got way ahead, although Stortilini (AKA Huggy Bear) got a few good shots in towards the end. Prust on the otherhand was destroyed, didn't know what him. I think Hal Gil is still confused by what just happened.

Rypien is also the cousin of Mark Rypien, and the brother of one of the biggest nutjobs Steve Ludzik ever coached (Wes, with the OHL's Mississauga IceDogs).

I actually don't mind Stortini, seems like he's always there for his teammates. The thing with Rypien is you can't last that long continually fighting guys 40 to 60 pounds heavier than you. I don't know what Stortini weighs but my guess is at least 225

Stortini is listed at 6-foot-3 228.

The guy is loved in the dressing room, from what I hear.

  5. Watching the highlights of this game on the NHL Network really re-inforced how much I hate those blue and green Canucklehead unis.

I wish they'd go back to the black, white, yellow and red ones (the ones Pavel Bure and Co. wore in the '94 cup finals, NOT the ugly forerunners that featured the yellow home sweaters with the big V on the front).

Those retro jerseys are possibly the best ones the Canucks have ever had. Love 'em.

The franchise has a record of changing the logo about every ten years.

I would say he must have been a litlle shocked at getting beat by a guy 5'10" 175. I think it may be a little different next time.

  8. To each his own, I guess. Personally, I hate 'em.

I much more prefer the Flames' retro unis, though I admit, it's still hard for me to look at the Flaming "C" (which actually looks like a blown tire to me) instead of the fiery "A" on the crest, though that's understandable given where I'm from. ;). I do, however, like the nod they gave to the Atlanta Flames by using the fiery "A" as their alternate captain "A".

I mentioned the Rypien fight at a meeting today and all the football guys said, 'the quarterback?'

    Are those not hot?

Every time I wear my Atlanta Flames jersey out for a game I get high-fived by strangers (and strange people).

Trying to watch pirate video from work ... it looks like Scott Hartnell bit Kris Letang in a scrum at the end of the Penguins' win over Philadelphia.

Letang wouldn't say it after game, but told teammates thats what happened.
