Despite his law degree and his impeccable hockey pedigree, Quinn is still a tough Irish punk from the east end of Hamilton.

A pedigree that, with the exception of 2002, has seen him win absolutely nothing as a coach or as an executive (he did win a Memorial Cup as a player).

And in the case of 2002, Cito Gaston could have coached that team to Olympic gold.

Although I like the style he has them playing, I am still having a hard time coming around on Quinn.

In the interest of fairness, he also coached Canada's U18 and World Junior teams to gold medals as well.

C'mon, you know better than that. People said the same thing about Cito in '92 & '93. Wasn't true then and isn't true now

And Quinn's gold medal at the WJ was, in my opinion, as difficult as any championship n hockey.

Johan Franzen out four months with a torn ACL. Justin Abdelkader returns (opened the season in Sweden, went to Grand Rapids when Brad May signed, and now back).

Lot of holes in the lineup for the Red Wings this season.

Help me out here. Doesn't each team get an exemption once every few years or so where they can waive a guy who sucks but takes up a lot of salary cap room and, though they have to pay the full value of the contract to the player, can get a little bit of salary cap relief? I'm not looking at any particular player, but as I look through the swiss-cheese like Capitals defense I think I see Michael Nylander in one of the holes.

Well JR, I am one who believes they won in spite of Gaston. He can't handle a pitching staff for the life of him. Just my opinion and I know your going to come back with how he handled all those egos but I just don't buy it. Look what his players think of him now.
