Too bad he was a better fighter than a goalie.

    Are you serious?

Potvin backstopped the Leafs to the Conference Finals in '93 and '94 against LA & Vancouver.

And speaking of the Leafs they're about to lose 4-1 to the Rangers and the fans are booing them constantly.

    I'm waiting to hear "AAAAARRRRRGOOS"

    Loved the McGrattan-Hordichuk fight. ;)

He was a hell of a goalie for about five or six years there in the 90s. PLaying for the Leafs, I think, burned him out after awhile. Never did recapture his form once they brought in Cujo and he was traded to Vancouver. Didn't he have some hip problems along the way?

    Just for you JR

Hordichuk didn't have a chance. He's a tough guy, just not in McGrattan's league. The right to end it was pretty deadly.

Never felt he was the reason the leafs succeeded back then. He was awful when he got to Vancouver. You saw him a lot closer than I did so I will defer to you about his Leaf days but I do feel he was very overrated.

Jesus, I didn't say he was THE reason but he was an integral part of that team. He was the best goalie the Leafs have had since Belfour.

Yes, his game fell off and by the time he got to Vancouver as he was well past his best before date.

But then, before Luongo, I can't think of a Canucks goalie that didn't suck.

Oh, wait, I can: Dan Cloutier, Kevin Weekes, Curtis Sanford.

    Want me to go on?

Before Luongo, most of the goalies were #1 back-ups.

Not to nitpick but Belfour came after both Potvin and Cujo in Toronto. But beyond that I agree with you.

As far as last Canucks goalie pre-Luongo that didn't suck you have to go back to Kirk McLean.

What the fuck does your answer have to do with anything I said? I said he was overrated, does that offend you?

What does Vancouver's other shitty goalies have to do with Potvin?

Did you not see the part where I said I defer to you since you saw a lot more of him than I did. Christ.

    Jesus, take a pill

How about you not judge Potvin as "overrated" when you admit you don't know squat about his career before his two years with the Canucks?

You said he was awful when he got to Vancouver. Maybe so, but it doesn't make him overrated.

Perhaps he's another example of the Canucks idiocy when it comes to goaltending decisions except for Luongo--oh, wait, there's last year's playoffs against the Hawks when he shit the bed.

    Carry on.

get over yourself, if you think I get bothered by the Canuck fuckups you're wrong. The list is numerous right up there with the Leafs, probably worse. There 2 of the most fucked up franchises this league has seen.

I never said I didn't know squat about his career, I said I would defer to you about his years in Toronto, it's still my OPINION he was overrated in TO but now looking back I do remember him being outplayed badly by Kirk McLean in 94.
