I have not seen the hit at all, but if he did jump into the hit, he should be.

Premeditated? Are you fist fucking me? You're trying to make it sound like attempted murder when it was a goddamn hit.

Look, I'm one of the last people to defend Phaneuf after the abomination of a season he pulled off last season but it might be worthwhile for young Mr. Okposo to skate with his head up when he's moving through the neutral zone.

I've watched the hit over and over and over and over and over again and it isn't anything worse than that for which most of y'all have polished Scott Stevens' knob.

Premeditated assault? You've got to be kidding me. How do you premeditate an open ice hit? The league better not suspend him for that, looks like his skate is in contact with the ice when he makes contact. How the Fuck does a professional hockey player skate through the neutral zone like that.

"Polished Scott Stevens' knob" is a nice turn of phrase.

    Totally clean hit

Maybe it's just me but it's the fuckin' pre-season and last time I checked Phaneuf wasn't trying to nail down a roster spot.

Good thing it wasn't John Tavares.

That comment seems a little over the top.

I would like to think Phaneuf is sending a message that he's healthy and has something to prove. Everyone had better keep their heads up this season.

    Game on, motherfuckers.

You know, if you look at the hit, it wasn't so much that Okposo had his head down but that he was in an awkward position after Nigel Dawes jostles him from behind.

Still, I question (but I can be convinced otherwise) whether the hit was necessary in a pre-season game.

I question how necessary 9 pre season games are.

I understand what you are saying JR but if that's the type of player you are there is no point in being out there if you're going to change your game. The pre-seasons a money grabbing joke.

If a guy shouldn't throw that hit in the pre-season, then the goalies shouldn't try to save the puck, or the forwards shouldn't try for an upper-deck wrist shot, or there shouldn't be fighting, or NO SLAPSHOTS!

Let's all just stand on the ice and skate in fucking circles. Have a couple of practice drills. Throw the pylons out there.

Fuck yeah! That'll get people interested in the game.

The Wings played a season at the Windsor Arena while the Olympia was being built.
