Sorry about the misinfo on the rain... was going by what was said on Kahne's radio (via HotPass) and they made it sound more urgent than what it was.

I thought it would be funny/sad if Hamlin won the 500 with Richmond not there. Sadler might actually be funnier/sadder.

How cool would it be, though, for Richard Petty to finally get back to Victory Lane at Daytona? If Jeff Gordon doesn't win, I want a Petty car in Victory Lane instead.

Junior: "My tire was only an inch on the line and I got penalized a lap, I don't think that's fair. Maybe it's time we go back and reevaluate that rule."

So NASCAR needs to change the rules to benefit Jr? Got it.

When Jeff Burton's down on you - you must have screwed up.

Congrats to Kenseth in probably the most anti-climactic win since M. Waltrip won and nobody cared.

Worst Daytona ever (Dale Sr.'s death aside)?

It was Waltrip who first was calling out Junior for his actions that led to the pile-up. Then after the commercial break, everything was all OK.

If we would have started this race at a normal race starting time, we would have gotten it in instead of watching an hour and a half of prerace horse shit. Thanks Asshole (aka Brian France).

I remember Michael Waltrip's other win (rain-shortened just past halfway) sucking hard.

So for someone who has never been to a race and dreads the thought of monster traffic, are $17 tickets to Atlanta worth trying for?

The NASCAR guys at FOX are really bad. You hear criticism during telecasts of the NBA, the NFL, the NHL and MLB, but watching this broadcast was pathetic. If someone screws up or something isn't good, don't act like it's just a "racing deal." Guarantee that if if Junior's move was committed by a bottom 20 driver he would have been ripped on air.
