Found this piece by Hinton very interesting. Are most here in agreement with him?

To me, a fairly casual fan of NASCAR, I think the whole Lucky Dog junk is no worse than the old days, when the leaders would routinely let guys get their laps back going back to the yellow flag. That never, ever, ever made any sense to me.

I can't disagree with a thing he wrote.

So if you're a Dale Jr. fan ready to jump ship, which driver do you adopt?
Do you look for a driver who wins?
Do you look for a driver who is also kind of a gool 'ol boy?
Do you look for a driver who has a car number that an 88 tattoo could be morphed into?

All they have to do is get a razor blade and slice up Tony Eury Jr. peel the custom decal off the back window of the pickumup truck.

Purely hypothetical, since a Dale Jr. fan takes his/her love of all things Earnfardt to the grave.

NASCAR is really getting weird. I think there are more Yankee drivers in the top 45 than there are Rebs.

Without question. 2007 was the first year in the history of the sport that not a single race was won by a driver from North Carolina.

I've always been a fan of Stewart's because he's not afraid to speak his mind and doesn't seem to be the good ol' boy type. Many think he's a prick, but he's a damn good driver. And he also wins his fair share of races.

I've always been a Jeff Burton fan. He's kind of like a second-generation Mark Martin. Not flashy, but a good racer who for some reason rarely seem to be the focus of other drivers anger.

Despite Newman's blown tire, Stewart had a good Speedweeks - two top fives and a top 10 in three races.
