Hmm. I've had DirecTV for a couple weeks now and just realized I don't get Fox. Not my fault the channel guide doesn't go lower than 213. 8)

Actually, the local affiliate switched from Channel 6 to 5 recently and I only get the former.

    Can't watch the race. Damn.

Can Fox create a character named "Basher" whose sole purpose is to come on the screen and hit Digger with a giant mallet?

The Digger hate is universal. Maybe the hate would only be running at 98 percent if FOX wasn't trying to make such a blatant cash grab with Digger merchandise.

Did Edwards' engine go on the second to last lap? Looked that way.

HAMPTON, Ga. – NASCAR won’t create a hard-line rule prohibiting Sprint Cup teams from starting a race and then parking their car a few laps later, but NASCAR Vice President of Competition Robin Pemberton said Friday there is an increased emphasis on making sure that the reason a team gives for falling out of the race is legitimate.

Although there are only 36 cars that have the funding to run the entire season, several teams are trying to make races each week. In past years, when there haven’t been 43 fully funded cars, some drivers started the race, parked in the opening laps and pocketed the last-place money.
http://www.scenedaily.com/news/articles/sprintcupseries/NASCAR_scrutinizing_reasons_teams_give_for_parking_their_cars_during_races.html?refresh=1

    Good.

I'm not fully convinced. But it's slick on NASCAR's part to throw the caveat out there now just in case some big name (Newman, Martin) ends up on the bad side of the top-35 in owner points in a couple weeks and doesn't make a race after some fluke mishap in qualifying.

As for Pemberton saying there could be "a little more leniency" in N'wide and Truck, make that a LOT more leniency. They'll never crack down there or else there will never be 43 cars or 36 trucks.

So, based on Bruton's explosion Friday I have to ask ... has anybody talked to him or his family about Alzheimer's yet?

The first clue was spending $340 million for New Hampshire. Certifiably insane.
