I could see Kurt winning three more on his own. Car that strong on a 1.5-mile track? That bodes well.

The thing is this: Dodge doesn't have it. Be surprised if a Dodge wins more than two races the rest of the year. Hell, I'd be shocked if a Dodge wins two races the rest of the year.

I wouldn't. Kahne should win a couple races and the way Busch's car was yesterday makes one seem to think he's capable of winning another race or two. Still, it seems like he dominates a race every year and you think he could be a contender and then he fades into the background again.

  3. Lot of empty seats in Atlanta Sunday.
It was even mentioned in the AP story this morning.

I was going to take my husband to the race as a last-minute surprise for his birthday, but I'm not forking over $100 for Atlanta. I'd rather give him a delayed gift, pay less than that for Dega and camp for free.

RIP, shalom and amen to Rev. Hal Marchman, who was a lot more than Daytona International Speedway's unofficial chaplain.

Bruton Smith's son pulled a George O'Leary. No word on whether Humpy Wheeler laughed.

You know, UNC-Chapel Hill could use an international airport.

“I attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 1992 through 1996 and believe I had the proper credits for graduation,” Smith said yesterday in a statement when asked for comment. “I’m checking with the university now for clarification.”

When I graduated, my school gave me this nice big sheet of paper with fancy writing on it. Do you have one or not, skippy?

For those of you who know him, and for those of you who aren't lucky enough to, Tom Jensen was promoted to Editor-In-Chief of SpeedTV.com earlier this week. Less road time is good for him (and his darling family) but bad for NASCAR press rooms and bars across the country.

Congrats to one of my favorite people on the planet. You deserved it!
