No kidding. Lost in the spectacular Edwards wreck was Ryan Newman not getting hurt. Edwards' car ran over his hood on the way to the catchfence. That couldn't have been a small impact at 200 mph.
Robby Gordon also took a hard lick in the other late-race wreck. He hit the SAFER barrier and accordioned the front of his car. DW, I think it was, had a good point about how if it had been about 100 feet further down the track he'd have hit the concrete wall head-on and it would've been much, much worse.

This is what happens when I quit and no one's there to put the hex on Denny.

No one is picking up the slack.

Fear not. It won't take long before he angers at least one of his pit crew members to the point of wanting to take a swing at him.

And the Shrub becomes only the second Cup driver to win a race on his birthday, following in the footsteps of Cale Yarborough, who did it twice.

And here's why he's The Shrub:

Cale Yarborough shits bigger than The Shrub.

The Shrub turned 24 today. He's won 50 races in NASCAR's top three divisions.

Doesn't change the fact that I'd pay large dollars for the privilege of seeing Yarborough or someone like him twist the inflated head right off The Shrub's shoulders and kick it around like a soccer ball.

By the way.....15 wins in Cup leaves him 68 in back of Yarborough, who also leads The Shrub in championships (3-0) and in Daytona 500 wins (4-0). Oh yeah, and in birthday wins (2-1). :)

And yet he's still a world-class douchebag worthy of having his ass kicked by five angry Outlaws in the alley behind Daytona Beach's famous Boot Hill Saloon.

Having somebody to root against is as important (if not moreso) than having somebody to root for, and it's way more fun to root against somebody who's a threat to win every week.

Yarborough didn't win his 15th Cup race until he was 34. Busch just won his 15th at 24.
