I know. But she still doesn't get to invoke his name in comparison to Kyle. I think she should be worried more about her "darling" Carl. :D

Just because the man almost got whacked, now you gotta rag on Carl Edwards.

And to think I thought all of the bad voodoo was concentrated on Deeeennnnnnnnyyyyy Hamlin!?! ;)

So who's gonna win at Darlington?
My fantasy racing league money is on Jeff Gordon.
My heart is on Carl Edwards.
My dark horse is Tony Stewart.

Oh, I didn't waste energy wishing ill will on Carl. I just don't like him much.

I'm afraid of Gordon with that back. I think Denny could do it, sadly, if he doesn't get in a swordfight with his pit crew.

Bruton says he will move one of his tracks' Winston/Nextel/Sprint Cup dates to Kentucky Speedway and has asked NASCAR to add the track to the Cup schedule. Now all they have to do is get the former owners to drop the suit. http://tinyurl.com/cu4jkq

And in the "yawn" category: Mark Martin's coming back full time in 2010.

Word is, he asked for his release from the New York Jets so he could play for the Vikings.

Whoops, sorry. Wrong full-of-himself former great who should have retired a couple of retirements ago.

Hold on--how can you say Martin should have retired already considering the success he's having this season: five top 7s, a win three weeks ago, three poles and on the cusp of the top 12. He's had three parts failures that were kinda bizarre and not his fault (two blown engines and the slit tire), plus the rain-shortened Daytona and getting caught up in that big crash on lap 7 at Talladega. He probably feels like there's no way he gets that unlucky again next season, and that's a pretty reasonable prediction.

Unlike Favre, who started to bring his teams down a little bit by the end, Martin finally has the equipment to match his talent and has already done a helluva lot more in the fourth Hendrick car than guys like Casey Mears did. He's outperforming golden boy Dale Jr.--so why is he being lumped in the same category as Favre? Martin is still a top-10 driver.
