It totally did. And with the cutbacks in NASCAR media, well ...

    OK, I will!

I told a radio host the other day that it can't be underestimated how much everyone in the sport needs Junior to do better. Even other teams in the garage, though they'd never say so. And that goes for the media too. Not that we'd root for him, obviously, but he's the rising tide that lifts all boats.

Here's the only thing that stuck out to me from yesterday's Buschwide race and I decided to throw it out there: Ears Busch running second in the 18 early in the race, getting on the radio and sarcastically announcing how happy he was that his teammate was being a good teammate and letting him by.

Um, so Joey Logano was a little slower than Ears at the time. He was also leading the goddamn race. If Ears wanted to get by, why didn't he man up and get it done? Putz.

I realize Logano felt badly about knocking the 18 out of the way at the end ... but from my point of view, Ears deserved it. Maybe not on that restart ... maybe on an earlier restart. But he deserved it.

Nothing makes me more certain about the lowest-common-denominator nature of NASCAR fans as the inexplicable employment of Darrell Waltrip.

Didn't see the second half of the N-Wide race yesterday, but from the replays, it looked as though Logano was doing what every other driver was doing -- just racin'.

I'm predicting Junior finishes in 18th place at Dover today.

    Other guesses?

From his spot in the buffet line, Jimmy Spencer demands equal time.

That by itself would be a tremendous improvement, but is about where I expect to see him.

Junior and Busch get into it today at the driver's meeting?

  10. Joey was real apolgetic after the race yesterday. Shrub wasn't granting any interviews.

Good post. What I really don't like about Shrub is the sense of entitlement. You want the spot, asshole, come and take it. You aren't just given anything in this sport.....or you shouldn't be.

It's also telling that Logano got into the back of Shrub because Shrub's tire was going down on the restart - and he knew it was going down - and yet the dickhead still managed to blame Logano for it. Fuck Kyle Busch.

Spencer does post-race on a channel that doesn't broadcast Cup races. DW is an "analyst" on the actual races.

    Apples and oranges.
