Best career move Earnhardt ever made. Even if he wasn't the greatest driver NASCAR ever saw (and he wasn't), he solidified his cult of personality for all time on that day.

I'm not totally convinced that he was even in his seat belts when the crash happened, and NASCAR cut through the seat belt as a CMA.

Sat here, staring at my TV, saying "Drop the net, Sam. Drop the net, Sam. Drop the net, Sam."

Was very glad to see him walking to the ambulance since there were no signs of movement after the wreck.

The gap between Hendrick and everybody else keeps widening.

And Kyle Busch drops to 10th place in the standings, only 13 points ahead of 13th-place Greg Biffle. Might he miss the Chase, joining Dale Jr. on the sidelines? Let's hope so. :D

After last night's shit-show, er, snoozefest, I'm bouncing Cryle off my fantasy team while I can still get some decent points in exchange. That race was about as boring as a Jimmie Johnson presser.

Not exactly NASCAR's dream scenario there. That coupled with another possible easy title for Johnson (c'mon, Smoke) would be a horrible Chase. Next year's rule changes would allow 14 Chase drivers with free passes for Most Popular and Most Booed.

  8. What about Jeff Gordon (insert whine noise here).

Kyle's got to stop turning down TV interview requests.

All he's got to do is avoid the question, drink a Coke, thank M&M/Mars, Interstate Batteries and Toyota, say we'll get them next week and walk off.

Earnhardt was at least a likable villain. Busch is just a prick.

Hmmmm, second in the points. Let's assume he makes it on merit, as he has done every year except one.

Prick, to me, doesn't adequately describe the Shrub.

Dick works much better. I can't really explain why, it just does.

I didn't think Earnhardt was very likeable. He was snarky, cocky and just as bad as Kyle Busch in claiming that rubbin' was racin' ... until he was the one put into the wall.

    Lest we forget ...
