That IMS Brickyard broadcast was a who's-who of fired and retired ex-Indianapolis radio jocks. I, for one, am stunned that Jerry Baker is still with us. And that they couldn't dig up Jay Baker.

NASCAR radio is God awful. My favorite part is when they bring the district sales manager lacky on from whatever company happened to sponsor that race. That's why the fans tune in!

That's what you get when you go down the slippery slope of doing anything for a buck.

From our Unsubstantiated Bureau: Richard Petty Motorsports may be downsizing in a few weeks, parking 44 car, moving Allmendinger to the 43 car, releasing Reed Sorenson.

An RPM source told the web site affiliated with Sirius Speedway, "We talked about that but it's not finalized yet."

How Reed Sorenson continues to have a job is one of the great unanswered questions of my life. He sucks as a spokesperson, he's not a very good driver, and he looks like a robot.

Challenger appears to be a go, I think. Or was, as of this pic at RIR last fall. Maybe they really are that broke.

Camaro not so much (GM wants to stick with the Camaro's distinctive look rather than a common body template) and Toyota is going to stick with its geezer-mobile.

At least nascar had the good sense to leave the blade on the back of this new car. Still can't get used to the wings on the Cup car. Ugh.

This is why drivers just refer to Martinsville or Bristol or whereever. Who can remember the names of the run of the mill races a week later, anyway?

Only three races on this year's Cup schedule have sponsor-free names - the Daytona 500, the Pocono 500 and the Dover 400.

The Southern 500 is billed as "presented by GoDaddy.com." Make me puke.

He really does look like a robot.

He's got Terminator eyes. You know when Petty fires him, one of the options available in his brain will be "Fuck you, asshole."

Gordon's personality is his family; Stewart looks ahead; Hamlin washes cars. Fantastic.
