Mean to tell me you don't like listening to Nicole Kidman, lono?

Is this race gonna get started or what?

    Dern race postponements.
Why not just build a dome?

I always wondered how a domed race track would work. The thing would have to be ginormous, and then you'd have the carbon monoxide fumes to deal with when you have something like a big NASCAR weekend. Seems kind of impractical and dangerous.

The fumes must not be a problem, as all sorts of races from midget cars to motocross to monster trucks are run in enclosed stadiums.

Don't those guys have rain tires for road courses? Every other series in the world that runs road courses runs in the rain ...

BuschWide Series does. Sprint/Nextel/Winston Cup used to for the Car of Yesterday. The new car weighs 200 pounds more so Goodyear is loathe to try it without extensive testing ... which Mike Helton and Chubby Brian France haven't gotten around to planning for yet.

Stupid, though. Of course, if they brought back the rain tires we'd have a bunch of drivers and commentators exposing their manhood by whining about how "racing in the rain is too dangerous!" ::)

1stADD: Goodyear says "Yes we can!"

Liked the Montreal Busch race last year in the rain. That was cool. As for this wreck right now at Watkins Glen, that's two of the most heinous crashes I've seen in NASCAR and they've happened in back to back years in New York. Just plain ugly to watch.

9 and 77 come off the bus stop chicane side-by-side, go through the right-hander two-wide, 9 gets loose coming off the turn and bumps the 77 into the tire wall, 77 comes back onto the track and gets drilled by the 24 and 31. Back end of 77 completely sheared off. Nobody injured. Kahne tells crew wreck was his fault.

Can't believe they have a still have a spot on the track where you can do what happened today. That kind of accident might have been fatal in an open-wheel race. I guess I'm just used to F1 where runoff area is paramount.

Car of Tomorrow vs. Coyote. Not the Coyote prototype racer, either.

I bet Joey Logano didn't have to pass that test.
