When ol' DW goes in I hope his bust, or whatever they have, has him wearing the Tabasco suit.

Who are we kidding? Uniform designs will probably go to whichever company ponies up the most $$$.

No love for the Tabasco Fiasco?

Hey, you're an old hand. I was trying to remember the name of that building supply or insulation company he had a 'year-long sponsorship' deal with. Lasted a couple of races at most. I can't remember the name for the life of me. Do you remember who it was?

Was ANYBODY suprised Double J is on the pole for tommorrow night?
I am really starting to dislike that team.

That's just a case of Jimmie Fatigue.

Of course, to balance the too-nice-Jimmie they have Chad Knaus, who never saw a rule he couldn't break innovate up to the very edge of what's allowed.

Speedblock or something like that, wasn't it?

Builder's Square (big-box home improvement place on the order of Home Depot or Lowe's) as primary; I think Speedblock (it's a masonry term) was a store brand of theirs but could be wrong. Subsidiary of K-Mart until 1997 or so, sold off to the Hechinger's people at that point. Signed to sponsor DW in 1998. Checks bounced, along with other obligations to the team that they didn't meet. Total fustercluck.

Thanks to all for the help. That was after Western Auto packed up, wasn't it?

How appropriate is it that he had "Speedblock" on the car.

Read something recently where was a meeting with NASCAR and the teams to talk about consolodating licensing. I knew people in the sport 15 years ago who wanted this to happen, but there was too much money flowing in, the level of trust wasn't there to make it possible.

I'm on the outside these days looking in, so I have no direct knowledge of the situation, but MA apparently headed into bankruptcy says something to me about the state of that revenue stream for the teams, drivers and NASCAR.
