This is the concern with Calgary and their cap space of $10 mil and trying to sign Bouwmeester.

They already have Iginla in at $7 mil, Jokinen at 5.2, Langkow at 4.5, Phaneuf at 6.5, Reghr at 4, and Kipprusoff at 5.8. Thats 6 players eating up 33 mil in cap space. Say Bouwmeester gets in for Phaneuf money as is being speculated. that's seven players at roughly $40 mil and without addressing the lost production of Cammalleri and even Bertuzzi (as much as I despise the guy he was huge for them early). Throw in the fact that everyone and their dog is saying the cap is going to take a nose dive following the 09-10 season and there are some major issues there.

Neither. Was at Elkford for Wildcat Days. Second overall and pulled in some decent coin for it. Does Funtastic have a cash payout yet or are they still giving out those lame alarm clocks?

Wouldn't this, then, be the year to blow your load and go for it?

OK, I'm clearly not the expert here, but did the Habs just make one of the worst trades in history?

Higgins, McDonagh, Valentenko to NY for Gomez, Pyatt and Busto.

    Gomez cap hit: $7.3M

Gotta be somthing I'm missing ... right? Right?

I don't get it either. Why would you take that salary and term on? I don't care how much salary cap space you have.

And if you're going to take on somebody with that kind of cap hit, wouldn't you want it to be someone who has racked up point totals just a little better than Gomez over the last three years: 60, 70, 58.

    60. 70. 58. For that kind of $$$ and cap hit? I can't, for the life of me, understand it.

    C. Lemieux for S. Turgeon was terrible. So is this. I guess Heatley will become Ranger tonight.

Heatley for Penner is the latest rumour. Confirm, Beef?

Rangers fans are self-immolating in rumours that he's going to New York.

it was Penner and a couple other players. if Tambellini can dump Penner in obtaining Heatley he has made a hell of a trade

I guess Murray still likes Penner. Jay Bo signed a five year deal with Flames.
