Ohlund will be Hedman's mentor. Nice deal for Tampa.

I should explain when I say back-loaded I mean there are some small numbers at the end to reduce the cap hit.

Lecavalier is going to make $10 million next season, but his cap hit is only $7.7 because of the small numbers at the end of the deal.

SEVEN years? wow....thats a long deal, I'd have thought 5 years would be long.

So we are both saying the same thing.

No way does Ohlund see year 6 and 7 of that deal.

Ok, cross the Blackhawks off the list of Stanley Cup winners next year. :D

TSN: Hossa deal something along the lines of 12 years/$62M.

But that does mean they would at least make the Stanley Cup finals, so there is that.

5.2 cap number is great for Hossa. Chicago will need to get rid of some bodies.

Unless I'm out of my mind, didn't Edmonton offer him 9/$81M last year? And Pittsburgh's 7/$49M doesn't even look so bad.

Will be interesting to see the yearly breakdown and see what the deal is once you throw out the bullshit years tacked onto the end of it.

And that's not factoring in that Toews and Kane will be up for new contracts in the next two or three years.
