    Sounds like it.

To little surprise, Erik Cole re-signs with Carolina.

    Derwood,

Habs not going to tender an offer to Koivu? Is that where Scott Gomez fits in the puzzle?

I figured Chicago couldn't afford to keep Khabibulin, but does it mean they hitch their wagon to Cristobal Huet?

You got a bright idea as to who else they'd go after?

Given their financial commitments elsewhere on the roster, I'm not sure. Given the Hossa signing and new deals on the horizon for Toews and Kane, they really don't have enough cap space for a $5-6 million per year guy.

We saw what happened to Tampa Bay in similar circumstances a few years ago after Khabibulin left. What's JS Giguere's situation in Anaheim? Are the Ducks committed to Jonas Hiller and trying to shop Giguere? Don't know what his contract is.

Not a huge Huet fan. Might have liked to see them try Scott Clemmensen, who did a good job in relief of Brodeur last year and signed with Florida. Not sure the other available free agents (such as Martin Biron) are any better. This might be a situation where they have to wait and see what happens after the season starts.

One of the most intriguing names to me is Marian Gaborik. Great offensive talent who can't seem to stay healthy for a full season.

Will be interested to see where he winds up and what kind of deal. As someone else suggested on another thread a couple of months back, maybe a 1-year deal with a lot of incentives for playing time, goals, etc. No way I'd take a risk on a long-term deal right now with his injury history.

I'm not sure I could possibly think less of what Gainey has done the last two days.

TSN says Marian Gaborik is close to being signed. It could be Montreal according to McGuire.

and Dreger tweet says Komisarek to the Leafs.
