I think Toronto got a good deal with komisarek, especially if they are keen on moving Tomas Kaberle. they also got Garnet Exelby from Atlanta, decent depth defenseman (or defenceman, if you prefer).

Montreal must not like paying defensemen. They've lost Sheldon Souray, Mark Streit and now Komisarek in three years.

If Montreal is getting Cammallari and maybe Gaborik, guess that means they aren't so interested in keeping Tanguay. Kovalev? Who knows?

Michael Russo of the trib -- a great hockey writer -- reported that Gaborik asked for 10-years, $75 million. Are you freaking kidding me?

We got quite the chuckle out of that on the Pens fanboard I've been hanging out at today. Of course, considering there was someone willing to take on Scott Gomez' contract, it's worth a shot.

That's absolutely bananas. How can you have the gumption to be requesting that?

It's essentially an eight-year deal with four sub-million years added to the end to lower the cap hit.

There's the big one we've been expecting: TSN is reporting Gaborik to the Rangers. 5 years x $5.75

Hope you're happy with Gomez, dumbass.

    I'd rather have Gomez.

Pretty good for a guy that previously turned down 10 x 7.85. ;D

At his cap hit? Though, admittedly, Rangers will probably only get about 30 games out of Gaborik.
