Burke was true to his word. The Leafs just got a little nastier.

He's busy covering his new acquisition in bubble wrap, in hopes that he, at the very least, makes it to opening day uninjured.

If you care, here's his comment from the mirror site: "Gaborik isn't a terrible deal as he'll (A) be 32 when the contract expires and (B) provides goal scoring for a team that needs it."

But less skilled — especially if they do end up flipping Kaberle for a forward (who is available that they can realistically get for Kaberle, because it's not like they have an overabundance of other pieces they can package with him) — and I didn't really think that was possible. What was the point of sending Kubina to the Thrashers for Exelby? It's not like they need more cap space, they have a ton of it and there's not exactly a lot of big names left to grab. Overspent on Komiserek, but he will fit nicely with another big paycheque under performing defenceman in Jeff Finger. If they move Kaberle they will have no one who can move the puck from the back end.

Tougher, absolutely. Better? I'm leaning towards no.

Buncha people got pissed and deleted their accounts (or didn't delete their accounts) and are posting at a site exactly like this one.

    Yeah. Seriously.

Are you kidding me? You just signed Milan Lucic's bitch. Ask Milan how to say it in Serbian.

but beef they aren't trying to be good this year so it opens up space for next year. This day is the most overated in sports. You never build a championship team through free ageency.

Oh I know that, but I'm also looking at their current set of prospects, let me put it this way, he doesn't have a Getzlaf and Perry to build around. I'm really curious as to how they are going to be better next year, and that's the thing is to continue to get better. You can take steps in free agency, and I don't really see that happening

And Heatley is officially the biggest POS in the league.

TSN is reporting he has turned the Oilers down again.
