I for one had no problem with the Jericho-Flair stuff (but yeah, it's hard to be emotionally attached to that when you know they're trying too hard to make it seems legit). I think the verbal portion of their segment was so very solid. Jericho's acting skills have gone up a notch during his time away from WWE. This match still doesn't do much for me at all, especially on the WM stage, but I think what might happen here is open the door for a returning wrestler to defend the legends such as Batista (a Flair honk) or Kennedy and feud with Jericho post-mania.

Another feeling I got from this segment is that Flair might turn on the legends. He did, after all, accept the match on their behalf. And when you think about it, Steamboat and Piper are among his big rivals of the past. If Flair were to come back as a manager for Jericho, it might be decent, especially if Batista is the one who would come back to initially help Flair only to have Flair and jericho beat him down.

    Just my two cents.

Jericho definitely doesn't need a manager and it would be kind of ridiculous because Flair just got his ass kicked by Y2J. Plus, people love Flair. People don't want to root against him. It would be a swerve though, but it seems kind of pointless considering Flair can't wrestle and it would ruin a potential WrestleMania moment (you just know Rourke's going to have the final say).

This feud would be more plausible if there was a wrestler who was defending the Old Timers honor. Say, if they added Evan Bourne or a R-Truth or Batista as you mentioned (which probably makes the most sense), who would get a rub and put on a really good match as well. They could have made up some bullshit as to why that wrestler was standing up to Jericho, like they were raised on the Old Timers matches or the Old Timers have tutored or trained him. I'm just not buying these guys (Jimmy Snuka will be 66 in May, for Christ's sake) taking out a guy clearly in his prime and who has already buried each of them.

Orton has a very good chance of winning. I think it could go either way.

Orton is close with Trips and he's clearly being booked as the rising young star in the company.

As much shit as Triple H gets (some if it warrented, some of it not), he hasn't won a WrestleMania match since burying Booker T in 2003. He lost to Benoit in triple threat match in '04, lost to Batista in '05, lost to Cena in '06, was injured for '07, and lost to Orton in triple threat match in '08.

I may be the only one, but I'm still uncomfortable watching a man hit a finisher on a woman.

Also, I liked the old Orton theme better.

You would've been downright horrified by what Austin and HHH did to Lita shortly after Austin turned heel in 2001. Walloped her with about 10 chairshots. Absolutely heinous. Here's a clip...

One thing from that clip that I miss: JR blowing a gasket over heels doing dastardly things. They've done a complete 180 with the announcers in recent years where they don't say anything at all in key moments, trying let the actions in the ring convey the message. I'm sorry, but it just doesn't have the same impact as when JR is screaming, "DAMN IT! WHY, BY GOD, WHY?! THAT MAN HAS A FAMILY!"

Oh, and don't bother holding out hope for the old Orton theme. He talked about his music in an interview I listened to a couple months ago. He HATED that song (and he openly mocked it during the interview). What was more interesting was that he said he's friends with the guys who did CM Punk's theme. That song was supposed to be for Orton (he actually used it for a like a week or two a couple years ago), but they eventually decided to give it to Punk instead.

Fits CM Punk much better ... would've been goofy if it was Orton's.

Gotta agree with Gutter. Seeing that theme music with Orton would just seem strange. It fits Punk's character and attitude much better.

    top 10 right now
    1. Edge (it's a great song period, and really fits Edge)
    2. Orton (perfect for Randy, much needed upgrade over his previous)
    3. Cena (you know it's coming, mega pop when it starts up, perfect)
    4. Batista (timed perfectly with the pyro. it's loud, exciting, and powerful)
    5. Rey Mysterio (really hated his old one, but this is awesome. starts off slow and boils over. makes Rey even better)
    6. Jeff Hardy (another WWE gem. took a while to grown on me, but it really fits him well, killer chorus, and just like Reys and some of the others, it kind of explodes with frantic sound after a slower beginning. excellent chorus and a huge upgrade over The Hardyz old song that Jeff used for too long)
    7. R-Truth (it really is a solid rap song, which is enhanced by R-Truth rapping it through the crowd, repeatedly asking the crowd "what's up" and getting them behind him and pumped up. effective, catchy, and strong.)
    8. Jack Swagger (not terrific, but very good theme by the Rage Against the Machine cover band. Oozes his heel "swagger".)
    9. The Undertaker (once the gong hits, you know it's on. a classic.)
    10. Triple H/Shawn Micheals (two more classic themes..."Sexy Boy" and "The Game" are two of the better themes in wrestling history and perfectly portray their characters)

That was fucking awesome. That was a beat down. No doubt. Even for the Attitude Era that was pretty hardcore. Loved JR's line as Trips is dragging around Lita by the hair... "Triple H has always been a sick bastard!" I miss chairshots.

Umm...damn. Pedigree + ton of chairshots + Stunner? That's more bumps than the average Diva takes in a year.
