Gotta say, I don't give one Taco Bell-fueled shit about this Orton-Batista feud. Not one.
OK, maybe a half of one if it means Orton puts him out of commission for another year.

Me neither, save for the furthering of Orton's uber-heelishness. He saves the over-roided, line-botching, barely-capable-of-a-moveset old man at every turn.

Is it just me or is Smackdown suddenly the most compelling program WWE produces?

Well, it helps when the show has top stars like Edge, Jericho, CM Punk and Undertaker to turn each week.

Raw just doesn't stack up, especially now that Vickie Guerrero is calling the shots. How I loathe thee, Vickie Guerrero. I just wish they'd let her go back to being Eddy's widow, but I think that'd be too much to ask.

Is there any reason for Shawn Michaels and Undertaker being gone so long or they just taking an extended break after their match at WM?

Just as I go praising Orton, he manages to fumble selling the correct leg during the Batista beatdown. Big Dave "attacked" the right leg, but RKO alternated between attempting to feign injury to both at various points. Sigh.

Taker has wrestled a few times since Mania, but the two have typically taken long breaks afterwards. The only time I can think of when they didn't was when they were champs after Mania.

I didn't notice that. I'm sure Vince gave him an ear full. I did notice, however, he didn't really sell the injury too well, though. When Legacy hit the ring and attacked Batista, Orton set up for the RKO and didn't appear phased at all that he got a steel chair to his ankle at all.

It wasn't until Orton kept stumbling and falling on his way up the ramp that he started to really sell it.

Must be that intermittent explosive disorder coming through.

The thing that stuck out to me from Batista beating down Orton last night was just that, from a story-telling point of view, it didn't make any sense. Orton's a heel. Why have him injured by the face before the PPV. It's supposed to work the other way around so the face has something to overcome or there's something to explain his loss, plus it builds the heel's cred because he's trying to win by getting an upper hand before the PPV. It would've made way more sense for Batista to take out Legacy, then confront Orton backstage and instead of attacking him, tell him he took out his stooges, and now he's going to prove he can beat him. Then, come Sunday, he'll take the one thing that matters to him, the WWE title, and then, when that's done, he's going to take him out. Then give Batista a clean win on Raw and show him holding the belt over a fallen Orton (and the rest of Legacy who would of course run in) as the final shot. You establish his dominance and build a strong story that way.

Maybe this is to build Batista's "animal" persona, but does that really need building now? Wouldn't it be much more hardcore, and build him more, to have him realize hurting Orton would only give him an excuse if Orton loses? Instead, he should beat Orton clean, then take his revenge after the match. The only things I can see developing logically from this is either 1) Orton loses and has an excuse for his loss, which cheapens Batista (faces aren't supposed to win because they hurt the face on Raw), or 2) Orton wins, which makes him look like a badass but weakens Batista.

And besides all that, they've made Cody Rhodes and Million Dollar Man Jr. (who I think should be called the $100,000 Man) into a joke. Every time Orton says Lergacy is the most dominant force in wrestling I laugh inside. Really? Then why can't the Two Stooges win something? The thing that made the Horsemen great was that the others were always more than just Flair's lackeys. They protected the world title, but two were regularly in the tag title hunt, another was regularly in a U.S. title feud and the other was TV champ. I thought with Legacy getting a clean win over the Colons on Smackdown, that when the Colons came to Raw the tag straps would go to Legacy, setting up a feud for those two separate from Orton and helpikng them develop. Instead, they're just fodder for Orton's opponents to beat down and show how awesome they are. Sure, they've gotten some wins over Batista and MVP and others, but none have been clean. I'm still not sold that Rhodes will be great, but DiBiase is money (no pun intended), and at the least, he should be giving MVP grief. Instead, they're doing seemingly as much damage to two promising careers that they can just to further Orton, who would ironically be better served if they used Rhodes and DiBiase right because then when he said Legacy was the most dominant force in wrestling, it would actually mean something.

Sorry about all that. Rant over.
