Speaking of Umanga, what happened to him?

 

Last I heard, he tore his PCL and underwent surgery and was slated to be out 4-6 weeks. That news came out in late August, though. That's the only information I can find about him when I do a Google search.

 

Maybe they gave his character and/or look a tweak?

 

Considering his Samoan heritage/background and his previous characters, I don't know how you could repackage his character.

 

I know there's a thread about The Wrestler, but since this one was already bumped I figured I'd post on it.

Just saw it -- friend got me a reviewer's copy. UN-BE-LIEVABLE.

Rourke is absolutely phenomenal. Everyone else in it is as well.

Having followed wrestling for as long as I have, been to some of these same indy shows and seen guys like 'The Ram', it just really, really hit home for me.

Hope I don't sound too corny, but I can't stress enough that everyone needs to see this.

 

The movie still isn't being shown in theaters around my neck of the woods. Might have to wait until it comes out on DVD.

 

Yeah, same here. It's not supposed to open in my town for like another month or something. That's why I bought my buddy who got me this copy lunch the other day.

Oh, and did I mention Marisa Tomei topless?

As I mentioned earlier, that's one of the MANY plusses about this movie. Rourke was phenomenal in it and he deserves the Oscar this time around. If they give it to Clint again, I might boycott watching the Oscars for a while.
