Almost a year to the date CM cashed in the first time.

I don't know that I mind them scripting that again, but to be honest, it is getting old...

The first however long the PPV was absolutely sucked.

But that match, and CM cashing in the MITB contract to win the title, more than made up for it.

Maybe it was a "tribute" to Tommy Dreamer?

I'd say the first 15 minutes and last 30 were watchable. Jericho and Mysterio wasn't bad. But anything else was hogwash.

Wow. I wonder where Punk goes from here with that title? I'm not sure how I feel yet about Punk pretty much stealing the spotlight from an excellent ladder match and pulling a very heel-like stunt like that.

This night reaffirmed to me that SmackDown is so much better than RAW right now. The two best matches tonight were SD matches (4 SD wrestlers) and the new champ is on the blue team too. Plus a good roster of athletic up-and-comers like Shelton, Morrison, and Ziggler.

Hey now, the hogs in that hogpen match had nothing to with the PPV being hogwash ...

Maybe a heel run is in Punk's future?

When's the last time you had five title changes on a PPV?

Punk winning the title a second time, makes me happy, but also upset that my friend, James, who passed away on June 26 last year (tripp mcneely on SportsJournalists.com), didn't get to see one of his truly favorite wrestlers win either of his world titles (the first one being on June 30, 2008). One has to also believe that Punk's win over Hardy could foreshadow a heel turn for Punk, something James also felt WWE needed to do because Punk has a great heel persona just waiting to be set free (if not for the WWE's controlling nature) from his days in ROH.

Perhaps, but does the WWE really want the main strap on a heel Punk when arguably the two best heels in the industry (Edge and Jericho) are on the same show? I don't think so.

The more that I think about it, the more remarkable it would have been if Hardy somehow beat Punk. It'd end the streak of successful cash-ins, put Hardy even more over as a resiliant underdog face, and could even justify a heel turn by an angry, bitter Punk.

Wasn't he a heel for a short time when he was in ECW?
