Perhaps they want to set up a tournament for the Bash? We haven't seen one of those in a while. I don't really understand the decision to give an injured Batista the top belt either.

Maybe that's why their match was so damn short?

Dreamer brandishing the strap - even if only for a day or two - speaks volumes to what VKM thinks about veterans who respect the business. The Master of the Singapore Cane could've mailed it in/bolted to the indy circuit or to TNA as WWE scrubbed the last bits of Extreme from ECW, but he didn't. And Sunday, he was rewarded for it.
