In keeping with the Hogan 2.0 theme, Cena could paint himself orange and form a new version of the nWo.

If it weren't for so many of the young fans he has, I'd agree. It would turn them off to the sport entertainment known as wrestling, IMO.

Thing is, they could easily do it while promoting someone as popular to take the juice off him. Maybe he feuds with HHH again? This time face HHH vs. heel Cena? Of course, this means one of these two ends up with the title, which of course I'd hate.

And what could Cena do to turn heel?
The easiest way is to attack a face, but there really aren't any big ones out there right now. HHH? He attacks him he'd be more over than ever because people are tired of HHH.
The Miz thing could take him down that road, but I doubt they'd do it. He eventually loses to the Miz and beats the crap out of him. Then he loses a couple of random matches (they can be flukes) to some upper-midcard contenders like Kingston and MVP and starts snapping on them and beats the shit out of them. Maybe he even does some random beatdowns to protect his spot in the pecking order.
It's pretty similar to what they did with Jericho, who had to work his ass off and do everything but anally rape a random fan in the middle of the ring to get over as a strong heel.
I think Cena has it in him. I'm just not sure they can come up with a good scenario for him to do it.

If they did this Miz angle the right way, they could easily push Cena into heel territory by getting him to go ballistic on the kid, way past the point of necessary. I get the feeling Miz is getting over on the crowd, one show at a time, and he raises some valid points. Have him question the legitimacy of Cena being the face of Raw, have him criticize the fact that Cena can't wrestle and let Cena act like a true ass and you've got your road to heeldom.

Of course, they could just have him kick the everloving shit out of Rey Mysterio or Jeff Hardy. That'll work too.

Late to the game, I know. Still, this is a great idea. Staggered offseasons would probably help everyone.

Maybe they should all have an off-season and McMahon can run re-runs of pay-per-views over the course of an off-season.....

Then again, he has painkiller drugs and roids to keep everyone refreshed.

The loss of revenue that would be caused by having an offseason will prevent that from ever happening. Staggering time off for various wrestlers would have a slightly better chance.

    Well, Undertaker already has it.

I think they should have a substantial enough rotation that Festus gets at least one title shot a year.

An offseason? That's a terrible idea. Wrestling is practically the only decent thing to watch that's not in reruns during the summer. Oh, and reruns of PPVs would get people nowhere. Apart from 'Mania, almost all PPVs have no rewatch value. A match here and there? Sure. An entire PPV? Unlikely.
