2009 Running Pro Wrestling Thread

You don't want to know. I think I might quit wrestling tonight.

 

Clue us in. I don't have cable.

I'm guessing Trips gets the strap, and probably Edge (again). Ugh. Christian, too.

 

Jericho vs. Rey started the show for the IC Title. Jericho won after fiddling with Rey's mask again.

Tommy Dreamer retained his ECW Championship after beating Christian with a suplex pin of some sort.

Randy Orton won the WWE Title after throwing Cena out of the ring after giving Big Show the FU.

Vince announced that rather than naming a new GM, he sold the Raw brand to a new owner.

That owner...

Donald Trump.

Jeff Hardy vs. Edge vs. CM Punk starting as I type this message.

There were a few other matches, but what I listed was the meat of the show.

 

Jericho beat Rey with a sick Code Breaker to start things off.

Edit to add Dreamer beating Christian to retain.

Mickie won a match (I think).

Orton won the title in a Fatal Four Way, after Trips and Cena were thrown out of the ring.

Then Vince comes out and says he's sold the Raw to Trump, who is shown in a taped segment saying he's going to do things that have never been seen before, starting with a "commercial-free" Raw next Monday.

Package was shown of the last PPV when CM Punk cashed in. He's backstage talking to someone when Matt Hardy walks in. They talk some shit to each other before Punk walks out for his match. Punk has MISAWA written on the tape on his left arm, which is a pretty cool tribute.

Getting ready for the triple threat World Heavyweight Title match now.

I'm lost.

There's an hour left in the show and this is the last match. I think I heard something about a battle royal tonight, though.

 

There's a 10-man battle royal to determine who will face Orton at The GAB (refuse to call it 'The Bash').

 

I'm just kind of flipping through, and was only half paying attention, but did I just see a commercial for Thursday's Smackdown that gave away the result of this Triple Threat match?

 

That's dumb. They took it from WCW, they might as well respect it and use its original name.

 

Thursday?

 

CM Punk either badly botched that move or he is doing a good job of selling that injury.

Found a feed on Justin.tv in time for the Punk-Hardy-Edge match. Damn that was fun to watch.
Even though he won, I'm wondering if Punk might have legitimately had that knee injury he was selling. He landed pretty awkwardly on the ring steps.
