It's all about my family, and how I play it...
It's all in the spit, and how you spray it....

Reports I've read says Michaels is supposed to return by SummerSlam.

I am so tired of HHH, Cena and Orton at the top. I like everything about Orton (except the guarantee that Legacy will run in and save his ass) but his feuds with these two stooges is ridiculous. GET SOMEONE NEW AT THE MAIN EVENT LEVEL. And please don't let it be that Vince and Co. are waiting for Botchtisteroids to come back and save the main event level.

An HBK return will help a lot. So will that of the UT. We can't count on Edge until early next year. Unfortunately.

Vince should thank the wrestling gods every day for Chris Jericho and even The Big Slow.

I haven't mentioned this on this post yet... but HHH fucking blows. I don't want to sound like I'm wishing an injury upon him... but... how about another knee dislocation to put his ass off TV for a while. How awesome was it for about six weeks earlier this summer when HHH was out because Orton punted his stupid head? VERY AWESOME.

I don't get Scribe's hatred, disdain or whatever for the Undertaker. He's one of the most loyal workers Vince has ever had, unlike guys like Hogan and Bret and others who jumped to WCW at some point. He's never jumped ship, and I believe his record (not just at Mania) speaks for itself.

As for HBK, I'd love for him to come back ... like, now. I don't care if they revive DX again ... just please PLEASE PLEASE come back and save us from this bull crap that is WWE programming right now. I've always been a huge HBK fan, despite what everyone says about him. And I've always been a HHH fan, despite what everyone says about him and despite his "family ties."

Say what you want about those two, but they've elevated a helluva lot more careers over the years.

I can't disagree with a word of that.

    I can.

    1. I don't want to dig up old ghosts, but Bret Hart didn't exactly "jump ship" to WCW. The WWF was on very shaky financial footing and getting pistol-whipped up and down by WCW, and Vince McMahon was looking for any way possible to get out from under the 20-year contract he gave the Hitman just a year earlier. The ending between those two was infamous, but it was Vince who got the ball rolling by getting Hart to start talking with WCW again in the first place.

    2. When WCW was raiding talent, don't think for a second that the Undertaker's name didn't come up. Everybody wants to chalk up the fact that he stayed in the WWF to loyalty, but the fact of the matter is that without the "Undertaker" name and gimmick (which he wouldn't be able to keep), Mark Callaway wasn't nearly as valuable to WCW as he was to WWF.

For an old big guy he's also still, you know, GOOD. He can still move well. And, even though his matches can be kind of predictable, by staying out of action for extended stretches (I'd also say by staying on Smackdown for so long) his gimmick stays fresh with the majority of fans.
The six-month layoffs Scribe mentioned have a lot to do with that. Vince and the WWE braintrust could learn a lot from Undertaker.

    1. I stand corrected on Hart. I forgot about the contract screw-up by McMahon ...

    2. Undertaker was in WCW a long time ago.

I wouldn't be surprised to hear his name come up when WCW was raiding the WWE for talent, but you never heard anything of him thinking about jumping ship. You never saw him on Monday Night Nitro or anything like that. He's been in the WWE for what, 17 years now? When was the last time you heard about him wanting to go to some other organization like the WCW?

Undertaker is a hard worker? Hey, I wish I had his opportunity to "work hard" a couple of times every six months. He's a worn-out gimmick. Michaels has five times the personality.

Eh, they're both hall of famers and they put on the best match of 2009 (thus far).

I'd like to see Michaels back. I can live without Taker for a while.

Oh, and anyone know why they even brought him back after Mania? He was on SD for like 30 minutes after Mania before bouncing.

Undertaker and Michaels did put on the best show of 2009.

The problem is, Taker only does two or three shows a year. Show up semi-regularly on Smackdown. Hell other than regular injuries, he's probably pissed he's not on RAW.

Sorry guys, I just don't like the guy. Give me a grunt who is out there every week, sometimes two matches a week.

    Speaking of HBK...

Random discussion in my newsroom, 4 p.m.-ish

    Copy editor:
I'm having a BBQ for my birthday on the 23rd.
    Petrie: *When* on the 23rd?
    Copy editor: During the day.
Petrie: OK. I have a prior engagement at 5.
Copy editor: (pauses) If you leave my BBQ to watch wrestling, you're dead. To. Me.
Petrie: Well...Shawn Michaels might come back!
Copy editor: Oh. That's worth leaving then.

    :D
